A media player with support for all common audio/video formats.
Metal Player is a pretty basic media player when compared to more advanced options like Zoom Player or perhaps VLC Player, but does pack in a few useful features which make it worthwhile.
You can use Metal Player to playback both standard and high-definition videos although in our tests, it functions much better with just standard definition as our HD video was a little sluggish, even on a modern machine. It's not enough to write this media player off, though.
The interface here is basic and elegant due to its minimalistic design. Our favorite feature was actually the high quality online radio player which provides access to a variety of different genres of music like 80's, 90's, hard rock, soft rock, metal, hardcore and many others. There was also a Beatles Tribute station. The radio is not commercial-free. High quality album art is downloaded automatically.
Metal Player also provides a number of different settings, organized into tabs. Changing hotkeys, file association, intelligent playback and other general settings is simple. Almost everything is configurable and the layout can also be changed between 4 different designs.
In the end, we found Metal Player to be a very well-design media player which provides both active and background entertainment, thanks to its radio streaming.
